16 incredible scrap iron sculptures that take this art form to the next level

You probably seen scrap metal art before but probably not this good. This Western style scrap iron sculptures are the work of talented sculptor John Lopez, a South Dakota native.  It all started by accident.  After his aunt passed away from a car accident, he set out to create a family cemetery but while finishing the project he ran out of material.

He had two things left to finish, a gate and an angel ornament for it, “so he went looking through the scrap iron on site. After some experimentation, he finished a gate into the cemetery, and then made a small angel peering over the top of the gate. The project gave him much personal satisfaction, and everyone who saw it was amazed at the result” and the rest is history.
