As most might be aware, Cecil the Lion was cowardly poached by Dr. Walter Palmer this past June. “Cecil was allegedly lured out of the sanctuary where he was shot and wounded with an arrow from a crossbow. He was tracked, and approximately 40 hours later was killed with a rifle. He was then skinned and his head was removed. When his headless skeleton was found by park investigators, his tracking collar was missing.”
Apparently, the poachers tried hiding the GPS-enabled collar after realizing Cecil was being tracked by a University research team.
