Polly is one of three bay mares that were abandoned and left to die. She was found by the RASPC in such a bad shape that she basically had zero fat in her body and around her organs. The veterinarian felt she might be too weak to handle treatment, but against all odds she responded well. After a long recovery, she managed to spring back to full health.
Unfortunately, the other two horses found along side Polly were not so lucky, one had a bad hind ankle injury and the other unexpectedly collapse, both had to be put to sleep to prevent further suffering. Polly continues to thrive well and was transferred to field center where she lives now with other rescued horses.
